ETHOS: How well do you build credibility, trust, and likeability with a wide audience?
I think I build creditability well with my audience. I enjoy using facts a data to support my claims so all of my writing is creditable
Do you cite and quote your sources appropriately? Do you introduce their credibility before yes I cite them appropriately citing evidence and claims from them?
Are all of your sources credible? All of my sources are credible through the pima library search engine.
Do you present how you are connected to the issue/any background you have in relation to it? I did not express a relationship with marijuana because I do not have one. I chose the topic because I trust the research.
Have you conducted enough research that your audience feels you are knowledgeable about your subject? Yes, I used a lot of statistics and history to give my audience a sense of how in depth I researched.
Do you appeal to a wide audience? Do you address and concede to at least one opposing view yes I appeal to a wide audience, I appealed to all of the rhetoric narratives we have learned in the class. or reasonable conclusion that differs from your own?
Are you empathetic, understanding, and respectful in your language to the community that the issue most negatively effects? Yes I was empathetic, I mentioned some of the cons of marijuana as well as the pros.
Is your solution ethical? My solution is very ethical, a lot of people agree with legalizing marijuana.
Is your essay appropriately written for an academic audience (MLA format, correct grammar, appropriate vocab)? Yes it was written in mlc format

LOGOS: How well does your message appeal to logic, reason, and (plenty of) evidence and support?my message appeals to logos very much. I used history, data, and personal interviews to support my claims.

Is your solution practical and specific? Do you provide evidence that your solution could work?
Does the order of your paper logically (and persuasively) move from one idea to the next? Do your claims build upon each other in support of your thesis and solution(s)?
Do you avoid fallacies and contradictions? Yes there was enough evidence to support my claims . All of my claims and evidence build up on each other to support one another.
PATHOS: How well do you appeal to your audience’s emotions in an ethical way? How well do you inspire your audiences to take positive action for the wellbeing of the broader community? I did not want to stray too far away from logos appeal so I used medical founding in medicinal marijuana to appeal to a pathos.
Do you appeal to shared values you have in common with your audience(s)? Which ones?yes I do, I appeal to a logos so I enjoy using data to prove my argument is valid.
Do you avoid exaggeration and vague, emotionally manipulative language? Yes I do, I don’t like to stray far from factual statements.
Do you connect with your audience? Do you tell include personal anecdotes? I like to include personal anecdotes for specific writing.but not so much this essay. I believed this essay needed more facts than personal feelings.
Do you show empathy and respect for your audiences? I show empathy and respect for my audience by showing the good and the bad sides to my argument.
Do you appeal directly to your classmates with a call to action they could participate in? Yes my call to action is for everyone to do their own research and not go off of biased information.
Do you help your audiences feel empowered (and not overly guilty or sad, for example)? Yes I do I encourage them all to look into the subject and educate themselves so they can have an opinion of their own
Are you caring and passionate about your issue? Have you made an effort for this to be evident in your language? Yes I am caring about this issue. I address how marijuana has affected peoples live negatively and positively.
